Robert F. Reese, Sr., 81, of Temperance, gained his wings Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at The Toledo Hospital.  He was born to Frederick O. and Marjorie (Cohea) Reese in Chicago Heights, IL on August 31, 1932.  He was a 1949 graduate of Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, played baseball for Thornton Junior College in Harvey, IL, and received his BSBA from Eastern Michigan University.  He married Joan Rogers in 1955 at St. Paul’s Community Church ,Homewood, IL.

Bob was a life member of the VFW. He served in the US Army from 1953 until 1955, including a tour of duty in Korea.  He went on to work for the Ford Motor Company for 34 years, retiring in 1991.  He was the president of the Bedford Township Rotary Club for many years which allowed him to visit Bosnia in conjunction with children’s charities.   He was an avid golfer and passionate about tracing his family roots.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife and parents.  He is survived by his loving children Robert (Penny) Reese Jr. of Toledo, Phyllis (Dan) Boehm, and Beth (Jeff) Szych, both of Temperance; much beloved grandchildren Andrew, Craig, Matt, Ashley, Brooke, Nicole (Derek), Nora (Danny), Chad, Chelsea, and Shelby; great-grandchildren Samantha, Elizabeth, Logan, Calin, Derek, Cayden, Christopher, Marissa, Ricky, and Valentine; brother-in-law Robert (Carole) Rogers, sisters-in-law Donna Rogers and Jean Justice as well as several nieces and nephews, and his “platinum blonde” canine sidekick Holly.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd, Temperance, MI.  A memorial service will follow at 3:00.
